GATEKEEPER IN SHAMBLES - Emblem Celica Banner Review

We got a new Emblem unit for this month, in the form of Celica. Given that Ike's released very early and assuming IS is prioritizing on popular characters, I did not see Celica showing up. But anyway, let's jump right into it!

Emblem Celica

Seems like Ayra's artist is in charge of this, huh? I can hardly find any similarities to her usual art style, but I suppose that's fine. Just that the attack art seems a bit off.

Caring Magic:

  • Slaying

Grants the following if unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally:

  • Atk/Spd+6
  • Atk/Spd+X = 20% of Spd at start of combat
  • True DMG (excl. AOEs) = 20% of Spd
  • Pseudo-Lull Spd/Res
  • Special Cooldown Count -1 before first follow-up
  • Unconditional Desperation

Even though it's short, this weapon looks pretty strong, now that Celica's Desperation doesn't have a HP threshold. Also, being able to accelerate her Special before her follow-ups serves as an answer to Scowl from Veyle, since it only triggers before the unit's first hit.

Warp Ragnarok:

  • Boosts DMG = 25% of Atk
  • Pass
  • Warps anywhere within 2 spaces of any foe within 6 spaces
  • Time's Pulse 3

First of all, who made this Special so insanely broken? That's so crazy, as not only she can teleport towards foes from afar like Hel, but she has built-in Pass, which I forgot it exists. It certainly puts Gatekeeper and Myrrh into shame, now that she can bypass Warp Bubble.

She has Verge of Death and Infantry NFU 4 as existing passives, and we now have Resonance as a new inheritable B skill, presumably for infantry mages.

Resonance 4

During combat:
  • Self Burn DMG = 20% of X HP, where X = (Unit's Raw Max HP [excl. Legendary/Mythic/Bonus effects] - Current HP) × 2
  • Spd/Res-4 on foe
  • Flat DMG (Max: 12; Min: 6, excl. AOEs) = (Unit's HP before combat - Current HP) × 2
  • X% DR-Piercing (Max: 60; Min: 30) =  (Unit's HP before combat - Current HP) × 10

So basically, she hits harder and cuts through damage-reduction more effectively if she has less HP. Given that she inflicts burn-damage to herself, she could possibly act as a WOM4 beacon in AR-Offense, particularly Galeforce strategies. Besides, since Occultist's Strike has lost value to BOL4, this is valuable for all of your infantry mages, who currently lack DR-piercing or True DMG in their weapon.

Emblem Effect:

  • Boosts Special DMG by X (excl. AOEs) = Max Special Cooldown Count × 4
  • Mini-Warp Ragnarok (excl. Pass)

Her Emblem ring is quite strong, but thankfully, it's still susceptible to Warp Bubble. In this state, it feels like Warp Bubble is rising up, yet falling out simultaneously,

Overall, Celica proves to be a menace for all game modes, and she can be very scary to deal with because of her insane teleportation and providing insane mobility from her Emblem effect. As I said for AR-Offense, you can make her a WOM beacon by slotting in Fury 4, and for better nuking capabilities, you may consider replacing Infantry NFU 4 with Fatal Smoke 4 to shut down foes' healing.

Returning Units + Color-Sharing

When it comes to the color sharing, this banner turns out to be a double edged sword.

Blue is literally insane, as Celica is color sharing with both Ivy & Caeda as Attuned units. Two of the best fodder factories in one share are definitely worth the pull, especially for duplicating fodder. In fact, getting Soaring Echo as well as Guard Echo from Ivy and Caeda respectively will strengthen your builds further, and strength wise, they're powerhouses in their own right. Because of that, I would not stop anyone from sniping on this color.

Meanwhile, you can see a stark difference between blue and the rest of the colors. For red, you have two Legendary units from different seasons, being Hinoka and Veronica. Both have fallen off as nukes, but Hinoka can still provide decent support. I consider it a backup option as they are solid merge projects for Arena, although Embla has brought down the value a bit.

Green does not look good either, besides Ascended Merric who's decent as he can spam Specials. Rosado is alright, but usually, melee fliers can hardly earn their spot nowadays. And of course, the bottom of the barrel - Legendary Xander. I don't have to explain at all.

Lastly, I would rank colorless the same as green, for being downright the worst colors to pull from. It has three Mythic units, yet they don't contribute that much. Medeus struggles hard as an omni-tank besides shutting down Bolt Towers, whereas Fomortiis gets even worse as he just dies to everything. Gotoh might be decent, but it's hard to justify pulling for him when he gets overshadowed by better supports.

Final Thoughts + Next Reruns

In essence, this banner holds incredible value on the blue pool, yet let down by the rest of the colors. Personally, I'll just wait and save up for the upcoming second part of the Summer banner. If that banner doesn't have anyone tempting, then I could acquire a copy of Celica for myself.

Speaking of returns, she's coming back in September, where she color shares with Mythic Lumera who is suddenly shifted from October. Therefore, we could get a Blue Emblem in that particular month, as both of them are awaiting for color sharing with the latest unit.

Let me know if you're excited to pull for Emblem Celica, and thank you so much for reading my thoughts on this banner! Be sure to save your orbs before Warp Ragnarok's teleportation effect robs them away!

COPING WITH COLORLESS HELL - DSH (June 2024) Summons

The Double Special Heroes banner for this month is back, with some exciting offerings. While Igrene and Lyon are very strong picks, my main target is Myrrh from colorless, who refused to show up after so many tries on her debut banner. She's by far, one of the best and most viable Save options to run, plus her Warp Bubble support.

For sure, I'll bring her home, even on spark. So, without further ado, let's dive into it!

24th June - I started off with 247 orbs, which should be enough for getting my most wanted unit on Spark. I might pull on full circles to increase the pity rate first, so that I can snipe on colorless if I have enough orbs left.

9 summons in and it's Young Tiki, serving no purpose as a unit in today's standards. 4 star Specials, get out of here!

Then, she's followed by Halloween Seadall on the 10th pull, who I'd once like to get a copy of him, until I abandoned the thought of collecting every Engage unit released so far. So, I'll sit this one out.

And then, that came out unexpected, yet exciting as Ninja Zelgius showed up on the 12th pull. Back in the day, he was so annoying to deal with in his Paralogue, and I was forced to use specific units. Nowadays, he's still fun to use as a unit, yet struggles to find a place like most other Armored units who are neither Byleth, nor Myrrh.

Winter Dimitri charged through the 33rd pull, and I already own him few months ago. Even though he's a good omni-tank, his fodder ages terribly, now that Loki can shut down Prime skills. But at least No Quarter is a very formidable special, so I can save it for someone else.

Reaching 40 summons, and Myrrh still does not want to show up. Not a surprise as colorless is getting notoriously terrible and wearisome, and I would not anticipate for her in the middle. Therefore, I can safely take her home without any cost.

To wrap it up:

Overall, the summons look pretty dull, yet I'm glad that I accomplished what I'm looking for. As an excellent Anti-Warp option, I think she's going to be part of my AR-Defense team soon, probably in Anima season where she can stop Winter Edelgard's charge.

By the way, we're getting a reveal trailer for our third Emblem unit tomorrow. Blue is already empty, given that Veyle and Legendary Caeda are being shoved out, so it could be Lucina with a bow since IS prioritizes on popular characters. She could be color sharing with Ivy and Attuned Caeda, who are great fodder factory options. Regardless, the rest of the colors appear lackluster, so I might skip that one in favor of Summer Part 2.

As always, thank you so much for looking at my summoning results, and be sure to save your orbs!

VANAHEIMR BAIT - 1st Summer Banner Review

The first part of the Summer banner is already up, with some interesting unit choices. So, without further ado, let's dive into each of them.

Summer Nerþuz

I'm utterly shocked to find that goat auntie gets an alt so soon after New Year's. I mean, both Freyja and Freyr got their Summer alts 3 years ago, so this one is kind of expected, yet it shouldn't be that early for this year. Does that mean her brother is getting in for next month?

Love of Nerþuz:

  • Slaying
  • Omni + X (Max: 14) = No. of allies within 3 rows & 3 columns × 3, +5
  • Null Follow Up
  • 40% DR from foe's 1st attack (incl. Brave effects)

Grants the following effects to herself at 25% HP or above and allies within 3 rows and 3 columns:

  • DR-Piercing (Max: 100%, excl. AOEs) = Max Special cooldown count value × 30, +10
  • Accelerates Special by 1 when Special cooldown count value ≥ 3, and it can be triggered

Grants the following effects when transformed:

  • Atk+2
  • Clash Atk/Def-X on foe (Max: 6); if X ≥ 5, grants additional 30% DR from 1st attack.

Her weapon is decent for a combat unit, but the full DR-piercing support gets really awkward as it forces you to use high cooldown Specials like Aether in order to be effective.

Just like all of her iterations, she gets a new preferred B skill, in the form of Under the Sun. It's a shame because she can never be a Galeforce unit in AR-Offense.

Under the Sun:

  • Canto (2)
  • Inflicts Spd/Def -5 on foe
  • Null Guard
  • Deals True Damage (excl. AOEs) = 20% of her Spd
  • Flat DR from foe's 1st attack (incl. Braves) = 25% of her Spd
  • Next attack reflects damage = amount reduced from 1st attack
  • 7 HP Healing after combat

Also, she gets Atk/Spd Excel not long after Bridal Sharena, and finally, we have Beast Threaten as a new C skill for beast units. It first inflicts Def-7 and Panic on foes within 3 rows and 3 columns, and if any foe is within that proximity, she'll get Atk+6 and Time's Pulse 3, which is great for triggering Specials at ease.

Overall, Nerþuz can be decent as a dual role unit in all game modes, being able to tank hard and grant support. However, her kit doesn't quite fit in any of the most commonly used strategies.

Summer Hrid

After 5 years of neglect, Hrid finally gets a summer vacation with the rest of his siblings, completing the Nifl summer lineup. Will he able to redeem himself this time, after his lackluster refine? Let's find out

Prince's Lance:

  • Canto (2)
  • Slaying

Grants the following if unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally:

  • Omni+X (Max: 14; Min: 5) =  25% of foe's Atk at start of combat - 4
  • Opposite Grand Strategy effect
  • 40% DR from foe's attacks (excl. AOEs)
  • Heals X HP when using Special (Max: 100%) = 10 + Max Special cooldown count × 20

Weapon looks mediocre to me, but it's not complete without his brand new preferred B-skill:

Ice Prince's Seal:

  • Inflicts Spd/Def-7, "Frozen" & "Guard" on foes and closest foes within 2 spaces of them

Grants the following at start of combat if HP ≥ 25%:

  • Inflicts Omni-5 on foe
  • Guaranteed Follow-Up
  • Deals True-Damage = 20% of his Def
  • Flat DR from foe's attacks = 20% of his Def

Frozen is a pretty unique effect that makes Hrid easier to do follow-up attacks, while making it harder for the afflicted foes i.e. the foe needs X more Spd while your unit needs X less Spd. The flat value depends whether Hrid meets the Def check,, in which X is multiplied by 2, and then added by 10. Otherwise, X = 10. It seems a bit confusing, but interesting as it breaks the usual Spd rules like Diamant's preferred weapon does.

Then, we begin to have Tier 4 versions of Wave skills, starting with Odd Def Wave 4. It now grants Def+6 to your allies at start of turn instead of odd-number of turns, which still grant you additional +6 in Def for 1 turn. Also, if you meet the Def check, you'll get a Tempo effect which is pretty crazy for a Cav unit.

Overall, Hrid turns out to be both a solid nuke and support that makes your team easier to do follow-ups, but I feel like NFU could hinder that ability, as it's getting common. However, his fodder is definitely useful for your Def-based cavs, who would want to run No Quarter.

Summer Olivia

Then, we have Olivia, who's also due for an alt after 5 years, and she's a colorless demote, adding an another inheritable colorless tome to the pool.

Sea Tambourine+:

  • Atk/Spd+6 to unit and allies within 2 spaces at start of turn

Grants the following at start of combat:

  • Atk/Spd+5 during even-numbered turns; Atk/Spd+11 during odd-numbered turns
  • Null Follow-Up if unit meets Spd check

Besides the fact that it's better than Niime's weapon, there's not much to say, but Far Trace 3 and Atk/Spd Rein 3 are decent inheritable options for a demote.

Summer Gullveig + Seiðr

Here she is! Everyone saw this one coming for months. She's accompanied by Seidr, and she has a snake floatie which looks pretty cute, after Freyja has one resembling her brother's. Unfortunately, she's a cavalry unit, that's not from what her sprite looks, and I thought she's a flier in the first place.

Golden Sunlight:

  • Slaying
  • When unit initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 75%, grants Omni+X (Max: 14 on 2nd combat) = 5 + no. of allies within 3 rows & 3 columns × 3
  • True Damage (excluding AOE's) = 20% of Spd
  • Half DR-Piercing
  • 70% DR from foe's first attack (incl. Braves) during player phase
  • Self-Refresh after combat but Gravity

It's a slight upgrade from her Mythic counterpart, now that she can hit harder thanks to true bonuses to all stats, and being able to cut DR in half is what she lacked beforehand.

Time & Light:

  • Boosts damage = 30% of Spd
  • Null Guard
  • Self-Refresh after Special triggers, but Gravity

It's basically similar to her previous Special "Time is Light", but with less Special cooldown in exchange for less true damage, so that she can act again as she should.

Then for her passives, besides Flared Sparrow and S/R Far Trace 4, she has Odd Spd Wave 4 as another variant for Wave 4 skills. This time, it grants Spd bonuses to both the unit and allies within 2 spaces, and if the Spd check is met, she'll get NFU during combat. Since NFU is getting frequent, it doesn't have that much utility compared to the Def variant.

Lastly, her Duo skill grants another action to herself, which allows her to act for a total of 4 times in one turn.

Most of the community has been excited for this unit because of her insane action economy and her strong potential as a Galeforce initiator. In my opinion, however, they really need to take a chill pill. While Summer Gullveig is not inherently a bad unit, being a cavalry means that she can't get mobility support from Guidance, and she can't pass through difficult terrain like her Brave counterpart could.

Unlike the latter though, she can run WOM 4 in her B skill, as she can still refresh herself via her weapon and exclusive Special. So, I personally think she fits better in that role as a warp unit.

In essence, I can see this unit having a significant influence on Galeforce strategies, but she'll struggle to take down most of the omni-tanks in the game. Therefore, you have no choice but to replace her Special with AOE, together with units who can accelerate Specials such as Bridal Embla and Gerik.

Final Thoughts + Will I Summon?

Overall, this banner has some decent units, but it doesn't really live up to the hype. If any of these units are your absolute favorites, then go ahead and acquire as many copies as you like. Gullveig and Nerthuz are side-grades of each other, and while Hrid's "Frozen" gimmick seems strong, it could get redundant like Diamant's niche last year.

Keep in mind that we may get more enticing offerings from the second part of Summer next month, so I'll be waiting for that one. Also, the DSH banner is coming soon, and it most likely has Valentine's Myrrh from colorless, whom I don't have yet. Thus, I'm so ready to take her home on Spark, as granting Warp Bubble support is so strong.

Let me know if you're pulling for any of these units. Thank you so much for reading my thoughts on this banner and be sure to save your orbs and resist the 4-action temptation!

THE DAWN MAIDEN'S TRIAL - Tellius New Heroes Summons

Time for another report of the latest summoning session, featuring heroes from Radiant Dawn. That's right, we're getting more love to this underrepresented game!

Though the Dawn Brigade is requested by many fans, I wish they add more Laguz royals instead, as this could be the chance to introduce more Tier 4 versions of Beast skills besides limited heroes. Skrimir especially, is already overdue for his debut, and I really hope that he makes the cut for next year.

Besides, Ranulf and Tibarn who already exist in FEH, are major characters to the plot, and they are terribly neglected by IS. So, if we get a full beast banner, then I hope that one of them becomes an Ascended, Rearmed, or Attuned unit.

Anyway, let's dive deep into some interesting pulls for last week!

14 summons in, and I got my first Helbindi. Yeah, how dare you asking me an absurd question when you just came out of nowhere?

Wrong godsword, and wrong fodder as it turned out to be Severa, not Edward. Felt a bit disappointed when she broke my pity rate, as Buffer 4 had already lost its value to Laguz Friend 4.

31 summons in, and what in the Nifl is chunky Fjorm doing in my circle? Now it's the worst time for Hardy Fighter fodder, and she'll die to every nuke that's released this year.

From the 36th pull onwards, I got some 5-star units, uhh...they were actually 4-star Special units. The implementation of this system was horrible! Young Tiki proved absolutely nothing as a unit, nor fodder.

I can say the same for Brave Ike and Hilda on the 41st and 42nd pulls respectively. The only thing I can say is they are just simply horrible on their own.

The 4-star Special rate is just worse than it sounds, and for every year, this pool is getting more bloated than ever, where there is no solution to almost every unit who can't survive today's meta. They feel so generic that you have to rely on max-investment via premium skills and Arcane weapons.

Even the worst pity breakers can at least offer something, so why bother putting them 4-star in the first place, just to become a 5-star shortly after?

I can't help but felt salty that these two had trolled my summons, and it's better to turn them into manuals for building up Tier 4 skills.

But then, something miraculous happened at my penultimate pull on colorless: Rearmed Sothe showed up. Finally, I have someone decent after almost running out of orbs! He's going to make a great addition to my Tellius-themed team, and has Potent Disarm that I considered using on Bridal Sharena for AR-Offense.

Well, here's my girl on spark.

Post Session Summons

11 June - I kept summoning afterwards for BOL 4 fodder, with the orbs I got from the Otherworld Bond pack. Even though the pack itself is expensive, I get to use the Otherworld Bond on KCB's Bridal Micaiah. Hence, it's worth the cost when it comes to obtaining both the unit and the needed skills. After all, I had been wanting her Bridal alt for ages.

Hilda appeared on the 44th pull which was disheartening, but I managed to get Edward before the second spark anyway, and my radiant boy feels stronger than ever.

To wrap it up:

Unfortunately, this session is quite salty for me because of the 4-star Specials, but at least Sothe has comforted me at the end, and that I have a Lapis merge. Calculating the amount spent on the second try, I still had 96 orbs. As far as I would like a copy of Altina from the AHR banner, I don't think it's worth the temptation than waiting for the first Summer banner, so I skipped it as I own most of the units.

Besides, I'm expecting Valentine's Myrrh to appear on this month's Double Special Heroes, which is confirmed, and so I'll be saving for her as well.

Thank you so much for reading my summoning results, and hope that your orbs will not get robbed by some bloody 4-star Special units!

BYE BYE, BURN DAMAGE - Review on Radiant Dawn New Heroes Banner

The trailer for the New Heroes banner had been released not long after the FEH Channel yesterday. There's no Midpoint OC, which feels disappointing. Anyway, I will be reviewing the featured heroes in detail on this post. So, without further ado, let's get into it!

Edward

I'm going to simplify things a bit this time, so here's the weapon description:

Caladbolg:

Grants the following effects at start of combat if HP is at least 25%:

  • Slaying
  • Omni+X (Max: 14; Min: 5) = 25% of foe's Atk at start of combat
  • Null Guard
  • 50% DR-Piercing
  • Special Acceleration by 1 before foe's first attack
  • Flat DR = 16 when foe triggers Special; otherwise 8 (excluding AOEs)
  • Damage reflection = amount of damage reduced from foe's first attack.

It looks pretty solid, and now that it synergizes with Godlike Reflexes and Buffer 4 already on his kit, he should be able to survive most of the modern nukes today.

Speaking of which, he has Breath of Life 4 on his C slot, which is essentially the tier 4 version of the current Breath of Life 3. It's summarized as follows:

For both unit within 2 spaces of ally and allies within 2 spaces of unit:

  • Restores X HP = 20% of unit's max HP + difference in Def × 4 if unit's Def > foe's Def; otherwise, 20% of unit's max HP (Max: 40% + pre-combat damage taken). This triggers after pre-combat damage
  • Grants Def +4
  • Half "Deep Wounds" reduction

Yes! After 10 months of burn damage terrorizing the meta, we finally have a counter to it! It's going to be so incredible for most of the omni-tanks, although it's meant for Def-based support units like Nergal and Duo Askr.

This skill is going to be extremely useful for tanking strategies in Aether Raids and Summoner Duels, so skills like Flared, Strike are getting hard-countered, and even Attuned Triandra's pre-combat damage support will no longer be useful. Also, neutralizing Fatal Smoke 4 a bit is pretty decent, allowing your unit to restore some HP.

The only problem is that it's not going to save you from Duo Lyon and Legendary Camilla, and that your frontliner must be within 2 spaces of any ally in order to take effect. Nevertheless, it's such a meta-defining skill to have, and I believe that one day, we'll see a resurgence of omni-tanks in the future.

Therefore, just forget about Edward overall. He's going to become great fodder for most of your units!

Leonardo

Great...another colorless demote, making colorless even worse to pull from.

Doubler Bow+:

  • Atk/Res+6 to unit and allies within 2 spaces at start of turn, if unit is within 2 spaces of ally
  • "Bonus Doubler 4" effect if unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally
It's a pretty decent inheritance weapon, but you might wanna run Arcane bows instead. He also has Atk/Res Finish 3 and Guard 3 as decent fodder

Rearmed Sothe

I'm so happy that Sothe receives an alt this year! Very well deserved for the second-main protagonist who holds major relevance to the plot.

Arcane Tempest:

  • Slaying
  • Time Pulse 3

Grants the following at start of combat when unit's HP ≥ 25%:

  • Omni+X (Max: 14; Min 5) = 25% of foe's Atk at start of combat - 4
  • 30% DR from foe's first attack (including Braves)
  • Null Follow-Up, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd

It's pretty decent for an Arcane Weapon, and compared to Arcane Void, this is definitely a better option for your dagger units. Giving true bonuses to all stats based on foe's Atk is much more useful than their stat penalties, as many units can cleanse their penalties nowadays. Also, built-in Time's Pulse 3 makes Lethality easier to trigger.

He has a new preferred Special called Bane, which has a cooldown count of 2, and my god, the second last-part of the description looks so horrendous.

When Special triggers:

  • Foe's Def/Res get reduced by 40%
  • Full DR Piercing
  • If Sothe's damage output < foe's HP -1 , sets damage to foe's HP -1 (before damage reduction gets taken into account)
  •  30% DR from foe's next attack if Special is ready/triggered

So, I've watched the other FEHtuber videos and it essentially means that if Sothe can't reduce foe's HP  to 1, he will just increase his damage output so that it cuts down foe's HP exactly to 1. Now, let's be honest, my brain cells got utterly destroyed from reading this nonsense, if not for the FEH experts. Who made that part so complicated to understand in the first place?!

Put that rant aside, it's quite a unique powerful Special which puts many of the old Omni-Tanks in their place, as they rely on DR from their passives.  However,

Lastly, we have Potent Disarm which is essentially Disarm Trap 4, but with a bit of Potent 4. Looks like Bridal Sharena has a new toy for AR-Offense.

Dagger units are stepping back from the meta nowadays, but Rearmed Sothe is the best we can get for now. He proves to be a formidable nuke in several game modes as his Special can kill many of the omni-tanks who are heavily reliant on their passive DR, unless you have Emblem Ike's ring which grants them unpierceable DR.

Attuned Micaiah

My girl looks so cute in this artwork, and I'm having trouble to decide whether to take her home or not.

Silver of Dawn

  • Armor & Cavalry Effectiveness
  • Slaying
  • GUIDANCE 5

At start of enemy phase, for herself and allies within 2 spaces:

  • Heals 10 HP
  • Converts stat penalties into bonuses
  • Neutralizes the first two "Penalty" effects on herself

At start of combat, if HP is 25% or above:

  • Inflicts Atk/Res -6 on foe
  • Atk/Res-X on foe = 20% of her Res at start of combat
  • Neutralizes foe's Atk/Res bonuses
  • Deals Flat Damage (Max: 15, Excluding AOEs) = number of allies within 3 rows and 3 columns centered on unit × 5

It's a really strong weapon with insane mobility support like Legendary Elincia's. The penalty effects that she can cleanse only apply to active effects, such as Exposure, Stall and Ploy. It's really nice, but not as great as Freyr's C skill since it selects the first two effects. If my girl can be like him, that would be completely broken!

She has Maiden's Solace as her preferred Assist, which is already outdated. Plus, just like Sigurd's Crusader's Ward, I don't think it will get an upgrade though.

Additionally, she has Yune's Protection as her enhanced preferred B skill.

At start of turn, for foes and foes within 2 spaces of them, inflicts:

  • Exposure
  • Discord
  • -7 to their corresponding highest Atk, Spd, Def or Res

If she initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally:

  • Atk/Res-5 on foe
  • Ark/Res -X on foe = highest total penalties among target and foes within 2 spaces (correct translation for the English version)
  • 50% DR-Piercing

We also have Atk/Res Crux as a new Crux variant, and finally, there's Far Trace Echo. This Echo skill is going to be useful for most of the ranged cavs or fliers who are running Trace in their B slot. Now what we have the Echo skill, you can run better B skills for your builds.

Micaiah in general, can hit like a truck. The massive penalty infliction, followed by DR-piercing can really boost her offensive capabilities. At the same time, she can be a decent support unit because of her built-in Guidance 5, which is so rare in flier weapons nowadays. But only if she has Aerial Maneuvers like Rearmed Tana, that will put both Tana and Legendary Elincia into the fray! Time will tell if we'll get her Emblem counterpart in the future.

Will I Summon?

Overall, this banner looks pretty solid. Breath of Life 4 is going to be a game changer, so it's worth summoning for a copy of Edward. Meanwhile, both Micaiah and Sothe are great in their own right, yet they don't affect the meta that much.

Since the banner lasts for 3 weeks, I can't wait to pull for at least a copy of Micaiah on spark. After that, I'll be getting Valentine's Myrrh whenever the Double Special banner releases this month. Lastly, the Emblem banner has some terrible colorsharing since Veyle, Camilla and Gullveig have been shifted to the AHR banner. Therefore, I can skip this one and save for one of the Summer banners instead.

Let me know if you excited for any of these units. How'd you like my new descriptions? Thank you so much for reading my thoughts on this banner and be sure to save your orbs like Breath of Life 4 would help you recover from an exhausting summoning session!

DEER BOY ARRIVES, MAIDEN DRAINS ORBS - Thoughts on FEH Channel (June 2024)

It's that time of year again! We get a FEH Channel for this month, and it has some really exciting news to be covered. So, without further ado, let's dive into it.

Book 8 Midpoint

First of all, it's clear that we've reached the midpoint of Book 8. We're still waiting to know the names of the two OCs from the wallpaper.

At first glance, we got Heiðrún, who seems to tend the Summoner's wounds. Not gonna lie, she looks sweet and awesome, like all the other goat mammas of this game. She really stands out to me with her motherly aura and wonderful design. I can't wait to learn her character in the story.

We've been hyped for this unit for so long, and our deer boy finally has a name: Eikþyrnir! In the cutscene, he's fighting against the Askr trio until Ratatoskr convinced him to stop. Looking very buff with his hardy muscles and tough antlers, and given that he wields dumbbells, he's definitely everyone's favorite.

Honestly, I thought this one was going to be a completely new OC, but I soon discovered that he is Læraðr, the leader of the Healing Hands. Even though the design looks cool, I thought he could be a gigantic tree-esque creature since he's part of the Yggdrasil itself. Expect him to be sent to male OC purgatory like Njorðr last year.

I have to share this one as it looks so adorable, yet heartbreaking at the same time. I don't know what they'll do to the story when Ratatoskr seems lifeless at the end of the cutscene.

Midpoint Celebration

As part of the celebration, we get the following rewards by logging in and completing quests. Giving us 3 orbs is not much, but it's better than none anyway.

Additionally, we're getting every New Heroes Banner from September 2022 to July last year. Seiðr and Heiðr are back in their respective banners, so now it's a good opportunity to merge them up if either of them are your core units for Astra season.

This banner is quite unexpected yet exciting for us all. It turns out to be another AHR banner, dedicated to the 8 units who did not make it into the Top 4 a few months ago. Edelgard fans can now rejoice! It also explains why the Emblem banner lineup seems occupied for this month. Also, everyone can spark for free, so this is your chance to pull for any units you don't have for your teams.

New Heroes

We're getting Radiant Dawn for the New Heroes banner, and I'm so glad IS is paying more attention to Tellius nowadays. But for me, it's not safe as I know there's Micaiah from the silhouette. Why do you have to do this to my orb budget? As a fellow Micaiah fan, I can hardly resist the temptation, and I don't think I will be as lucky as getting Attuned Caeda for free this time.

Next to Micaiah is her fiancé, Sothe who's a Rearmed Dagger hero. Though I anticipate him to be a Legendary unit, this design speaks otherwise, as it is what I want to see as his Legendary form. Anyway, I'm excited that he's received an alt this year. On the right, we have Edward, the godsword pity breaker, and Leonardo, the bow demote. Finally, in the middle, we have Jarod as the GHB unit as well.

These heroes are up to something, other than the demote and the GHB, and I'll be writing a review individually on a seperate post afterwards.

New Event - United Warfront

Last but not least, a new event gets released: United Warfront, not long after Affinity Auto-Battles. Since everyone would like to have some sort of co-op mode, I can see why the latter is not well-received.

Basically, you'll get a series of Legendary/Mythic/Emblem battle maps from a particular title, and you have to win each map using different teams like Arena Assault. What makes it special is that you can borrow other players' units for your own use, but if they are from the same game as yours, your team receives a massive stat boost. Fortunately, you'll not get kicked out if you lose in any of these maps.

I'm really looking forward to this event, and it's going to be fun.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this is a solid FEH Channel, and I'm really satisfied with what they've given so far. Some cool OCs, an AHR banner, more Tellius love and a new mode that will blow our minds. As I've mentioned, I'll be reviewing the Tellius banner next.

Thank you for reading my opinion on today's FEH Channel and be sure to save your orbs!

THERE WILL NEVER BE ONE IKE - End of May Double Summons

Forget about Corrin a few days ago, because it's Emblem Ike time! This banner turns out to be highly valuable as he's colorsharing with Marth, though Kvasir needs some investment. What a good opportunity for me to merge him up a bit! Also, what's left has been used for the Fallen Banner afterward, as I need Nergal who's quite strong and can steal Bonus effects. Which means, I've summoned on two banners in a single day, and I will be sharing whom I got so far.

Legendary Corrin (M) MORE IKE Summons

31st May - I started off with 330 orbs, and as I said, my goal was to obtain a few copies of Ike before the banner ends. So, I was sniping on red this time, and not the full circles. Colorless was my backup option if there weren't any red stones, since Askr can be a fun merge project, while Gullveig and Hortensia can provide useful fodder.

5th summon was Fae...the "legendary chicken". How great! And yeah, she's just a tank.

In 13 summons, Hortensia showed up, which is nice and I'm planning to assign her as a Guidance fodder factory soon.

My radiant boy showed up by himself on the 16th pull. How ironic considering that he didn't do so on his debut banner, at least it was good that he came before spark this time.

From this point onward, there were zero 5 star units upon 40 summons. Maybe I was too lucky on that Galeforce Bridal banner, so I took the second Ike and scram. I could have continued spending the remaining orbs on more Ike copies, but I felt that my results would go downhill anyway. So, the temptation was resisted and onto the Fallen banner we go!

Fallen Summons

163 orbs remain, and this time around, I went on full circles as I don't mind getting Veyle or Lumera who would be useful in any season. Ursula is in fact, pretty good with the Desperation support too.

Both Ymir and Ascended Laegjarn appeared as pity breakers in my 9th and 11th pulls respectively. Surely, they filled up 2 bubbles, but were quite lackluster as units and fodder.

On the 22nd pull, I got Fallen Ursula. Cav-lines have risen once again thanks to Drive Desperation and her instant AOE-Special acceleration.

There was also Astrid on the same circle, whom I never got before and she was my 25th pull. Now that I have full focus charges, let's hope that I could get Nergal before the spark.

Speaking of which, my words came true! It's indeed the druid himself on the 30 pull! I felt so happy, and with that, I've ended the summoning session without the spark.

Summary

Overall, the pulls are alright for me. Legendary banners are quite a pain to summon for, especially when merging up a favorite unit to +10. I just hope that Emblem Ike can keep up with the meta so that we can vote for him during next year's AHR event. After all, his legendary counterpart won 5 years ago.

Meanwhile on the Fallen banner, my luck has carried through. Ursula and Nergal are unique in terms of support, and I'm glad that I would not regret it. For this month, there's a lot to consider: I will be saving up for Valentine's Myrrh on this month's DSH since she refused to show up on her debut banner. In fact, the Midpoint banner is coming soon and I can't wait to see who will be the next OC.

Thank you for reading my double summoning sessions today, and be sure to save up every last of your orbs.
